Today is the first posting of the Celebrate the small things group.Hosted by Viklit at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. Great idea Vik!
How it all works!
Each Friday, post in your blog something you wish to celebrate achieving / doing
that week.
It can be writing related: I finished a tricky chapter! I finished my outline!
It can be reading related: I read two books!
It can be life related: I tidied my sock drawer! My child finally ate something green! I cleaned the shed!

What have you got to celebrate this week.
PS I may not be able to visit many blogs for a couple of days but I will catch up after the weekend. I'm looking forward to celebrating all your achievements whether great or small!

My small celebration for this week isn't related to my writing. Sadly I haven't had much time for that over the last few days and the coming week is shaping up to be a busy one too so not sure that will change much in the very near future! Anyway, I did go to a dance class. I love dancing and have tried all sorts over the years but I hadn't done modern jive for quite a long while. Probably at least two years, but I went along to the class and guess what? Lots of moves came flooding back! Sure I was a little rusty and messed up a few times but I was pleased with how much I could still remember. It is also an excellent workout which has gotta be a bonus! Not sure I will have the time to go again regularly but hopefully now and again. What have you got to celebrate this week.

Jive is definitely good exercise! Glad you had fun! :D
ReplyDeleteI can recommend it!
DeleteI'm celebrating launching my book!
ReplyDeleteGreat celebration, Patsy. Sending party poppers your way!
DeleteI wish I could dance! I'm about as coordinated as a hippo on roller skates. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteDancing is great fun!
DeleteGood for you! I've been considering taking dance classes, but then wonder if I really want to do that to the world.
ReplyDeleteYou should give it a go :)
DeleteGOOD FOR YOU! What fun!! Jive like they do on Strictly? OOOH HURRAY That you made it to a dance class. Definitely worth celebrating ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in!!
Well something like! I'm an avid Strictly fan and am suffering withdrawal symptoms till the next series.
DeleteI love dancing, but I usually confine myself to dancing at home for the safety of everyone else. Jive sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteDance like there's no tomorrow, whether at home or in public it's a great adrenalin rush :)
DeleteIt sounds like you had fun...and worked in a little exercise at the same time. Good for you! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Hope your weekend was fun :)
DeleteDancing- how fun! I've tried various classes over the years, one of which was, (wait for it) belly dancing. I was trying to get in tune with my body. Oh boy. I have way too much inhibition for that. Needless to say, it didn't last. Now I stick to more solo and quiet pursuits to nurture my soul, like teaching myself mandolin.
ReplyDeleteWow, mandolin, I'm impressed. I can't play any instrumet. And belly dancing, that's one style I haven't yet tried!
DeleteDancing sounds great. Good for you. I had an amazing day yesterday so I will celebrate that. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for amazing days :)
DeleteModern Jive sounds just plain fun! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun, Ink :)
DeleteGlad it all came back to you! I imagine dancing is a great form of exercise.
ReplyDeleteIt is good exercise and because it is social you don't always realise you are exercising!
DeleteWonderful!!! I'm glad you got to dance, it sounds like you had fun!
ReplyDeleteI managed to get through a tough schedule yesterday, and I did get a bit accomplished on my last minute editing this week.
Well done with the edits, Tyrean :)
DeleteDancing is so much fun. I'm happy you could do this.
ReplyDeleteAah I love dancing. Hope to get back to it again this year, but we'll have to see.
ReplyDeleteHope you manage it, Misha. Let us know how it goes :)
DeleteThe jive would be an awesome dance to learn. Great fun and a great workout. Congrats on getting back into it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Charity :)
DeleteHi Suzanne! I'm a fellow blog-hop member, and I love dancing, too. I've taken lessons in ballet, modern, jazz, flamenco, and belly-dancing - not jive though. But I watch "So You Think You Can Dance" all the time and love the jive numbers they do. You're right, it's an awesome workout!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love all those sparkly dresses, Lexa. We have Strictly over here and it is one of my favourite shows.
DeleteI've never been coordinated enough for formalized dancing--I generally just thrash about, quasi-in time with the beat of the music. Glad you had fun in class this week.
ReplyDeleteFound you through the blog hop, which is shaping up to be a delightful Friday activity. [g]
Hi Lara, nice to meet you. I will hop over to your blog.
DeleteNever been to a dance class but have been recommended to many times. Good job for getting out there and doing something different and fun and healthy! :)
ReplyDeleteYou should give it a go sometime it is tonnes of fun :) Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI'm so glad that you enjoyed dance class. My mom used to force me to join dance, but now I can just run around the track. I should try something different to be healthy.

Hi Gina. Keeping healthy is important however we chose to do it. Hope you find something that works for you :)
DeleteWhat a great idea! And it's great that you were able to enjoy your dance class.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that my celebration consists of finding myself this week. In work and play, I figured out me a little more and it feels great.
Jessica
Visions of Other Worlds
Well that sounds like a reason to celebrate, Jessica. Congratulations.
DeleteHello, fellow celebrant of the tiny. Keep dancing!
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, great to meet you.
DeleteI love to dance. (not that I'm particularly good at it, LOL) But good on you for going and enjoying yourself.
ReplyDeleteThis week, I'd like to celebrate my family getting over that horrible flu!
Glad you are all feeling better. My husband and I are struggling with a chesty cough at the minute. It is so exhausting.
DeleteHello Suzanne, my dear human friend,
ReplyDeleteMe thinks that with thine dancing, thine words of magic will dance upon thine keyboard :)
I tried to teach my human, Gary, to dance. Sadly, he still dances like an old dude at a wedding.
I celebrate how well my election campaign is going. Kind wishes and a peaceful weekend, your way,
Penny the Jack Russell dog and next 'Paw Minister' of Britain! :)
Go Penny! You are one superstar :)
DeleteThat's great you got a chance to dance and remembered quite a few of the steps. I've always wanted to learn to dance, but I'm not very coordinated between my arms and legs. I can do one or the other, not both. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThis is a common complaint, Cherie. It does get easier though!
DeleteThat's wonderful. I dance about as well as my toddler, but it's fun. My celebration this week was finishing the first draft of my latest WIP.
ReplyDeleteA first draft, that's awesome. Congratulations.
DeleteA celebration a week is awesome -- I have one a day, in my own head. Life is too long and too short not to celebrate each day.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed good if we can be thankful each day.
DeleteYour dance class sounds like fun! I'd love to do something like that. I like the idea of celebrating something each week. Hopefully I can celebrate something (anything!) writing related this week.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can too, Catherine :)
DeleteWow, you're a woman of many talents! I've always wanted to do dance class, but sadly, I'm a total klutz, lol. I guess my celebration for last week would have to be the completion of a chapter on my WIP that like you, I haven't had time to work on. Maybe this week, I'll crank out another chapter. Good luck to you! I hope you get some writing time soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Celeste and congratulations on finishing that chapter. Hope you manage another real soon.
DeleteThis is the 3rd time I've seen word of this fest. I'd better get serious about it now. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a good one, David. You should check it out :)
DeleteDancing is good! Glad it's included in your life.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by today :)
DeleteGood for you! I want to talk my husband into taking a ballroom dancing class with me. I think it would be fun!
ReplyDeleteGo for it, Emily!
DeleteWhat a great idea for blog posts! And dancing-- how fun!!
ReplyDeletei love to dance, shaking it, oh yeah. would love to learn others, too!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE dancing! It has multiple benefits... besides being a form of keeping fit and healthy, it's therapeutic and a feel-good activity!
ReplyDeleteHappy Dancing!
I'm popping in from the Bloghop.
Thanks everyone who visited this post. I hope you are all having a good week full of mini celebrations. I appreciate your comments and support :)
ReplyDeleteits a fun hop isnt it!
ReplyDeleteyay for you dancing it up!
I miss my dance class. I've been so busy with my baby I haven't had a chance to do Zumba in a long while. Your post reminds me I need to go back there someday.
ReplyDeleteIt's so important to celebrate the small things. I'm celebrating that an agent requested my manuscript after I sent a query. Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant, Sherry. Fingers crossed for you :)
DeleteCongratulations on dancing! I found your blog by participating in this bloghop! Please visit ours and follow us if you like it! http://citymusecountrymuse2012.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI love dancing and haven't done it in so long! Maybe I should follow your lead. I'm celebrating my discover of The Emotion Thesaurus.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a busy week for me, so staying focused and breathing probably tops my list right now. Makes it easier to live with me too, I'm sure :) http://effectivelyhuman.blogspot.com/2013/01/celebrate-small-things.html
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to find something that you love and have the extra benefit that it's good for you too. I hope you will find the time to do it more often.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're puttin' on the Ritz while puttin' on those moves!
