I managed some writing on Sunday morning (the leaves are still there if you read the earlier post!). The whole WIP is progressing nicely and I have set myself a target of finishing a first draft by the end of October. I think this is a realistic time frame as I have a few days off from the day job in a couple of weeks which should give me time for the final push.
Finally thanks to all who visited on Wednesday for IWSG. It is always a busy and interesting day and I still have a few posts to visit over the weekend.

Hi Suzanne - glad the book signing day was fun - they look interesting books to read. Also you're feeling energised and organised to finish the WIP .. good for you.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves will wait for a while - but will give you a good excuse to get off your author's backside and do some exercise?! Cheers Hilary
Hi Hilary, thanks for dropping by. I love having piles of new books to read not so much the piles of leaves!
DeleteGood luck getting your first draft done! I have a pile of new books waiting to be read, but they'll have to wait until I get better; reading is hard when you're dizzy!
ReplyDeleteSorry you are still feeling poorly, hope you can get to those books soon. Take care.
DeleteBest of luck with your end-of-October deadline! Those new books you picked up look like intriguing reads... :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather.
DeleteThere are few things better than getting a new stash of books! Yay for progress on your WIP and good luck getting it done in Oct! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lexa :)

DeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteThat author event seems like a wonderful time for you. All the best with finishing your draft by the end of October. Just take it easy.
Have a lovely Sunday.
Gary
Thank you, Gary. I hope you and Penny are well.
DeleteNew books and writing going well. Sounds awesome! :) Hope you're having a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI did thanks, Christine.
DeleteIt's good that things seem to be going well for you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Julia.
DeleteWhat a fab book haul! I've heard great things about every one of those books - although Deep Water is the only one I've read so far (loved it). Don't let the shiny new books distract you from the deadline, though - it's great when you're feeling inspired. I went to an author event at the weekend too - so I have my own towering TBR stack and I'm feeling as if I want to write more and write better! I look forward to hearing how you got on at the end of October xxx
ReplyDeleteSaw you on Twitter, Helen. Looked like a fab event. Loved the shoes! Isn't it great having lovely new books to read, but full steam ahead on the writing! xx
DeleteHi Suzanne. I hope you reach your goal by the end of October. It's a good feeling. And I love that pile of books.
ReplyDeleteGetting new books and talking to authors, there are definitely worse ways to spend a weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for new book lovies! I hope your writing has been epic and the cheese is abundant.
ReplyDeleteI"m sure your writing is going to be spectacular Suzanne. So happy you found some wonderful things to read. Happy weekend.
