I went back to work on Tuesday, which happened to be hubby's birthday. We decided to go out for a meal on the Monday to celebrate as we were all going to be quite busy on the actual day. It was a nice way to end the long weekend.
If you read last week's post you will know we are having some new windows fitted to the front of the house. It has been a dustier and longer job than expected but they are nearing completion now and looking good.
This weekend I am hoping to go to a local food festival. It is an event which has grown over the years. It is fun to wander around the foody stalls and try the samples on offer!
And so onto other small celebrations for the week ...
Thanks to Viklit for hosting
- Enjoying some chocolate after several weeks without it!
- A quieter weekend (hopefully)
- Catching up with my cousin who is visiting from France.
Happy Friday to one and all.
Glad your relative is doing much better. You're right, Easter seems a long ways away now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex.
DeleteThank goodness your friends illness wasn't as serious as thought! Happy belated B-day to your hubby and enjoy the food festival! That sounds super yummy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverley. Hope your visit to your friend is a good one.
DeleteYes, I'm glad your weekend had a happy ending. It's a shame we can't choose our friends and family based on how many of them would give up their holiday time to be in a hospital corridor or waiting room for us - because those are the really important ones. (Might've known you'd be one of those!)
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen, glad you had a nice break with the family :)
DeleteIt does seem a long ways away, glad they are recuperating
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Celebrate the Small Things...
ReplyDeleteI gave up chocolate one year for lent. Just that one year! I was such a grump that I decided it would be better for the world if I never did it again.
Happy Friday!
~Katie
Hi Katie, thanks for the visit!
DeleteGlad it all worked out with your relative. I too, feel as if the Easter break never happened. We got back from vacation (which I could use another vacation to recoup from vacation...LOL) at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday. With very little sleep, I jumped up, cleaned my house, started cooking, doing all the laundry from our trip and getting ready to host Easter at my house for 20 relatives. Yep. I am still tired.
ReplyDeleteHappy B-day to your hubs. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy that food festival and your relative's company (from France). That sounds like a great way to spend your time off!
That's the trouble when you get back from a holiday, always so much to do!
DeleteOkay, I think I need a nap in your honor. Glad the illness wasn't serious.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your chocolate!!! :D
Haha that would be kind of you!
DeleteI know what you mean about Easter. When I wrote my Celebrate the post and was thinking about things, it suddenly hit me 'hey, last weekend was Easter!' But with putting in windows and things, I'm sure you have a lot to do.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time with your cousin and the chocolate!
Time just seems to fly! It's already early Monday morning.
DeleteGlad your relative is doing better. Our Easter break flew by also. Kids are older now so it's a quieter celebration that concentrates on enjoying each other's company.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about the Easter break. Feels like a year ago already.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do have a quiet and peaceful weekend and enjoy your visit with your cousin.
Thanks, Julie. It was nice to see them.
DeleteGlad you relation is on the mend.
ReplyDeleteHope this week-end is much more quieter for you, our forecast don't look that good.
Yvonne.
Yes the weather kind of scuppered some of our plans!
DeleteSounds like lots is going on and it's very good. Here's to the window project being finished soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy to report it's all finished! Just need to do some decorating around the windows now.
DeleteTime really does fly. Glad to hear the illness wasn't so bad and that you had some good times with your loved ones. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Misha.
DeleteSo glad that your friend is not seriously ill and that you had a nice celebration for your hubby. Have fun at the special food event. Happy weekend,.
ReplyDeleteHi Deanie, sadly didn't make it to the food festival in the end - the weather was too bad down by the sea. I think they had to cancel some of it. What a shame.
DeleteHave a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a good one, Cathrina :)
DeleteSorry to hear about your relative, that's always a hard time.
ReplyDeleteThe issue whenever you have any word down to your house is that you always know when it starts, you never know when it's going to end. Things always end up taking longer than planned!
Yeah, things often take longer than planned!
DeleteHi Suzanne - enjoy Porthleven and its food festival - sounds lots of fun .. if the weather is holding .. it is here ..
ReplyDeleteLots going on though .. Easter, birthdays, the sick - I'm glad they are home safe and sound now ... and then the food festival - enjoy cheers Hilary
Sadly the weather didn't hold, Hilary. It was awful, really heavy rain showers and winds during the day. Such a shame.
DeleteGlad your relative is okay. Have fun at the food festival - I went down for that one a few years ago (assuming Hilary's correct and it is Porthleven) In fact, that year the weather was so good I walked barefoot on that pebbly beach, just so I could take a photo :-)
ReplyDeleteNo walking barefoot on the beach this Saturday, Annalisa!
DeleteGlad to hear your relative is already recuperating at home! Hospital stays are always scary...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, hope you enjoyed the food festival, and the weekend in general! :)
Thanks, Heather, even though things didn't quite work out we had a nice weekend, hope you did too :)
DeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteThankfully, your relative was not as bad as first thought. Recuperation time, for sure.
Happy belated birthday to your hubby. Sorry that the weather over the weekend wasn't so great. And I'm sorry for my late arrival.
Wishing you a peaceful week, Suzanne.
Gary
YES! Easter was forever ago. (Wait, was that only Sunday or a week ago Sunday? Yikes.) Time doesn't exist. It's all in our heads.
ReplyDeleteI hope your relative is recovering well and thank goodness you survived the insanity. Sometimes that's all you can do, right? Survive. I'm surviving. ONE MORE DAY OF A TO Z. Whew! I can do this.
Chocolate - slurp! But only the dark stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteKick back and relax, sounds like you earned it! X
Good to hear that the illness wasn't as bad as feared, Suzanne.
