THE RULES:
- Display the Award Certificate on your website.
- Announce your win with a written post and link to whoever presented your award.

- Post 7 interesting things about yourself
- If you don’t have a blog but have a website, Facebook, or Twitter or other type account, post there with a link back.
OK so I'm bending the rules here but I can't think of 7 more interesting things about me this morning, so I'll give you one weird one! Well I'm told it's weird but maybe there are others like me out there!
- I don't like drinking out of a full glass. I'd much rather have two half glasses and I would certainly never choose a pint glass!
I'll nominate my last 7 new followers for this award should they wish to collect it. Elise Fallson, Rena, Tina, Brandon Ax, Suzy Turner, Elsie Write. Great getting to know you all :)

And of course it's Friday again already so time to Celebrate those Small things with Viklit @ Scribblings of an Aspiring Author.
I'm celebrating the arrival of these guys outside my bedroom window! A pair have nested here for about the last five years. Last year they built a wonderful nest and settled in only to be scared off by a rather aggressive sparrow. I was shocked and didn't realise they can do this. The nest was abandoned and I seriously wondered if I would see them again so when I opened the curtains the other morning and saw them it cheered me up. They look like young birds so maybe they are offspring from the previous pair. Fingers crossed the same thing doesn't happen again. Husband not so pleased as they make rather a mess down the wall and it is difficult to open the window in case it frightens them but a small price to pay for being able to watch them raise their babies so close up!
Happy weekend everyone.
Yeah, I bet they are a bit messy. But if the sight cheers you, let them be. Hopefully no mean sparrow comes along.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely to watch them coming and going, I hope they stay.
DeleteWow, thanks Susan! What a nice surprise to get during this hideous morning of trying to get reluctant teens off to the tenth from last day of school. Not that they're counting or anything...I'm so ready for it to be over, too.
ReplyDeleteI love awards. Just love them! I know, nerdy, but that's me, and proud of my nerdness!
Thanks again,
Tina @ Life is Good
P.S The 1/2 glass thing makes sense to me! Colder drinks. I don't have that problem though, because I drink mine too fast, it doesn't have time to get cold!
Hi Tina, glad you are pleased with the award I look forward to reading your post.
DeleteThose guys are really, really cute... like they have not a care in the world...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend Suzanne!
Writer In Transit
You too, Michelle. Thanks for the visit.
DeleteAww that's a great thing to celebrate, I'd love to see those every day :)
ReplyDeleteCute aren't they?
DeleteAww, how lovely. There was a bird's nest at my daughters' school and we got to see the two babies for a few days before they flew off. Miss them now.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great thing for the kids to see close up.
DeleteHappy weekend and Happy Mother's Day, Suzanne. Here's a little something more to celebrate. I nominated you for another award. Please go to: www.dhdunne.blogspot.com to find out more.
ReplyDeleteOh my Deanie you are too kind, I'll check it out.
DeleteMessy for sure, but still a sight to see.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, and at least they are way to high up for the cats to worry them!
DeleteHi Suzanne .. I have a full glass around all the time and ask for a pint quite often!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have such box office viewing - can quite see your hubby being a bit frustrated, and not being able to open the window much .. but what a treat to be at their level .. they'd have been blown away up here - it's mighty windy and cold!
Cheers Hilary
As I said I'm the weird one I know! It's gone much colder again here too. I hope we haven't had the best of the weather already. We are overdue for a great summer!
DeleteCongrats on the award.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope the sparrow got some anger management classes over the winter.
Yeah let's hope so. I googled it and apparently they can be prone to aggression at times!
DeleteAww, how cute is that? You're blessed. We have a large bird population around our apartment complex because we have trees while the surrounding desert doesn't. I see pigeons, doves, big black crows, sparrows and seagulls. I even saw a gray falcon once. :-)
ReplyDeleteI like to see the birds around the garden although I am worried about actually feeding them because of the cats. These should be fine though as they are so high up!
DeleteLovely pic. I've got some bluetits in a nesting box just outside my office window - a lovely way to be distracted from my work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Julia. Bluetits are so pretty I can see why they act as a distraction!
DeleteCongrats on your award! So just one fact about yourself but it was a good one! (and yes a bit weird) (I like weird)
ReplyDeleteAwesome pic, I hope they are not scared away again. Enjoy your weekend ;)
Thanks, my random fact finder was on a go slow this morning!
DeleteHow nice. Hope their tweets don't wake you up too early. I've had some bad experiences in college with birds pecking on my window early in the morning, waking me up. I am not a morning person, and I was almost ready to do some violence on those hungry little peckers who would get the bugs on the window since it was a bottom floor and the window was at ground level.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, hope you have a much better experience and that your husband will have patience. Writer’s Mark
I have experienced that before I think they were after the insects. Hope your weekend is a good one.
DeletePurple is nice. My neighbor loves it, too, and everything in her house is purple. Everything she wears is purple!. We still like her.
ReplyDeleteJust dropped by on a blog hop visit. Have a nice day.
Your neighbour sounds like my kinda person! Thanks for the visit today.
DeleteWhat a lovely award to receive. That random fact about the glasses made me laugh. I throw away the last mouthful of water, and then fill it up to drink more. I do not do the same with alcohol.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annalisa. Glad I gave you a chuckle!
Delete"Shine On". I like it! Congratulations, Suzanne. I prefer my glass to be 3/4 full. LOL. I never gave it much thought until now. I think it's because a full glass requires a certain amount of time. Three-quarters and I don't feel rushed. Plus, it's still relatively cold by the time I reach the end. LOL. That's strange even for me.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is something to do with the temperature of the drink, I'm not sure!
DeleteLove that award and it's well deserved! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLove that picture of those two sweet birds.:)
Thank you :)
DeleteNesting birds, how cool and inconvenient :) That shine on award is pretty pretty too.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
.......dhole
Hi Donna they are so sweet it makes up for the inconvenience!
DeleteI love when the birds return! Congrats on the award-- that's a pretty badge too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie!
DeleteI think there's a little bit of OCD is all of us! :)
ReplyDeleteOCD yeah that's probably what it is!
DeleteNesting birds how lovely! I would love to have them in my garden!
ReplyDeleteThey are very sweet!
DeleteNice one and shine on with that award. And a great idea to pass it onto your seven newest followers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sight and hopefully, sound of the nesting birds. Mind the mess :)
A peaceful Sunday, Suzanne.
Gary
Thanks, Gary you too :)
DeleteThanks so much for sharing your story on my blog, Suzanne. I'm thinking of you and all others for whom this is a tough day. Seems appropriate that this post is about nesting and shining on.
ReplyDeleteBe gentle with yourself.
xoRobyn
Thanks, Robyn x
Deleteso glad i stopped by!
ReplyDeleteyour unicorns are beautiful and that award is precious!
and i love having a nest of birds nearby, so springtimey! and melodious!
I love my unicorns! It doesn't feel much like spring here today though - very wet and windy!
Deletewhat a cool pic!!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteI love when the birds come back in the spring.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a pretty award! Congrats!
It's not an award I had seen before.
DeleteCongrats on the award. I hope the little guys don't disturb your beauty sleep ;O)
ReplyDeleteI have small mugs I make tea in to keep it hot and fresh.
Sometimes hear them at first light but it is a nice sound to wake up to.
DeleteCongrats on the award! I hear the baby birds outside close to my window too, but they're a little farther up in the tree.
ReplyDeleteThey have chosen quite a sheltered spot under the eaves.
DeleteI used to love to watch the swallows when I lived on a farm. They're so graceful.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what a pschoanalyst would saw about the half glass thing.
Yes I wonder!
DeleteIts fun to watch things like this. We have a nature trail behind our house with its own little ecosystem and see all kinds animals.
ReplyDeleteI love to see wildlife, it's great isn't it?
DeleteDeanie gave me this little award, too. It is pretty! It is unusual that you only drink out of half full glasses, but if it works for you, that's what counts!
ReplyDeleteWell I do like to be a little different Sherry!
