Today I have the pleasure of welcoming the lovely Annalisa Crawford as part of her Cat & The Dreamer Blog Tour. Welcome, Annalisa it's great to have you here.
It's been a year since my novella Cat and The Dreamer was published! There have been lots of changes in my own life in that time, and I started to wonder what else had changed...
Thank you Suzanne for inviting me over today!
Today's topic: TV!
This seemed like such a good idea at the time, to write about TV - after all, I have a TV, I watch TV... It turns out, I don't so much watch it as have it on in the background. Hubby is the one who watches TV - I pick out of the shows he's watching. For example, in 2012 he watched Alcatraz, The Newsroom, Awake, Hell on Wheels and Arrow. And out of all of those, I watch Arrow.
If you haven't seen it, it's worth watching just for this:
That scene pretty much made my mind up!
Although it wasn't that guy so much as this guy:

Sorry, Suzanne, this post is a bit of a fail...
About Cat and The Dreamer
As a teenager, Julia survived a suicide pact, while her best friend Rachel died. Julia’s only escape from her guilt, and her mother’s over-protection, is her imagination. When Adam arrives in the office, Julia’s world takes a startling turn as she realises reality can be much more fun than fantasy. Finally she has someone who can help her make the most of her life. But can she allow herself to be truly happy?
Cat and The Dreamer is available on Kindle UK, Kindle US, Kobo, Nook, iTunes/iBooks, and via Vagabondage Press.
Annalisa Crawford lives and writes in Cornwall with a good supply of beaches and moorland to keep her inspired. She finds endless possibilities in the relationships between people. Several new projects are on the cards for 2013.
Find her on her blog, Twitter, Facebook and Goodreads.
Annalisa, your TV watching seems very much like mine! I sit in the living room with the rest of the family, the TV is on and I flick my eyes to it every now and then but mostly I'm distracted by something on my laptop or I'm catching up with blogs! It works fine for most of the stuff we watch but isn't so good if the programme is a thriller or drama when you need to concentrate. I have been known to pretend I know exactly whats going on when in reality I haven't a clue!
Thanks for hosting me today, Suzanne. I bluff my way through so many programmes!
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone enjoys the video clip ;-)
You are very welcome, Annalisa.
DeleteI can identify with you Annalisa. I find it too difficult to sit for hours on end, watching tele, when I can read a good book or do some writing or blog visits...
ReplyDeleteGreat video clip!
It is a great clip, isn't it? :-)
DeleteI rarely 'just' watch telly I usually have my laptop on my knee!
DeleteSmart move... killing two birds with one stone?
DeleteOr the modern terminology - multi-tasking!
LOL - I get all the reality shows here in Portugal. Well (I say in my defence) they're better than politicians having endless debates, all shouting at the same time!
ReplyDeleteIf political debates were the only other option, I'd be watching reality shows too!
DeleteReality shows can be good for people watching - that's what I always say anyway!
DeleteI don't watch much TV - unless it involves Brian Cox. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIsn't his new series great? I only ever understand half of what he's saying - the science goes over my head sometimes, or I realise I'm just watching 'him' :-D
DeleteBrian Cox has a great voice doesn't he? I know what you mean about the science going over your head and just watching him!
DeleteHi Susanne and Annalisa - I just need to catch the Cat and Dreamer tour somewhere along the line .. and must get buying it ..
ReplyDeleteFor now I watch the evening TV - but do enjoy something stimulating .. I've got hooked into Michael Portillo recently .. and I know I'll enjoy Brian Cox's stuff when it wings round again ... I need to release my brain for now!!
Whereabouts in Cornwall are you .. I go up and down quite often and have an old friend from SA in Wellington - so now I'm free .. I'll be visiting and 'touring' more often - not as Patsy in a camper van!!
Cheers to you both - Hilary
Thanks for stopping by Annalisa's hop. My telly viewing is usually confined to whatever everyone else in the house is watching!
DeleteMy part of Cornwall is the Helston/ Lizard area. Maybe we can all catch up one day if you visit the area, Hilary.
Best wishes
Suzanne
I'm up on the Devon boarder. Thanks for visiting, Hilary!
DeleteOh yes .. friends in Devoran, St Austell, Penzance and around ... our Memorial for Mum was in Gulval ...
DeleteSo that would be fun - I'll be down sometime later in the year .. and will definitely look forward to meeting up .. cheers Hilary
Hi Annalisa - I can visit you on the way down then ... good range of places to visit in the west country ..
DeleteCheers H
Ha! I don't watch TV either unless it's what the hub is watching. Once or twice a week I get to watch something on Catch Up when he's working late. Lately he/we have been watching Utopia, which is mind-bogglingly confusing but strangely addictive. No muscly men doing chin-ups, though, I'm afraid!
ReplyDeleteNo, I think I chose my muscly man well :-)
DeleteExcellent choice!
DeleteI loved Cat and The Dreamer! Such a great book. And this was a fun post, I love the Arrow clip LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to admit I'm a total tv junkie. Insert blushing red face here. :D
Cat and The Dreamer is a great read, Julie I agree. Thanks for dropping by.
DeleteThanks ladies :-)
DeleteNo need to blush Julie - I have an addiction to house renovation programmes (I just try not to let on to Hubby!)
I thought it was rather funny! Need to teach you the fine art of TV watching.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I find so little on, I end up watching the 24 hour news channel.
DeleteSeems the more I blog, the less I watch t.v. Time has to come from somewhere, I suppose. Best to you with your book!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would much rather catch up with my bloggy friends than watch TV. You miss so much if you don't log on for a few days, don't you?
DeleteFunny! I watch almost all old shows too . . .with the exception of Once Upon a Time, White Collar, and Sherlock (waiting for that next season)
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
I'm really looking forward to the next series of Sherlock (if you're talking about the BBC version - I've not seen the US one).
DeleteA lot of my gal pals love Arrow, but I can't get into it. I do enjoy Big Bang.
ReplyDeleteAny response to this comment will just show me up as very shallow, so I'll be quiet ;-)
DeleteNever heard of that show. I tend to watch cooking competition shows, then I have the tv on for background afterward.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I cannot, and do not, cook I'm watching a cooking show at the moment. There is something wonderful about watching food being prepared :-)
DeleteA massive thank you to everyone who has visited for Annalisa's Blog tour. Sorry I have been a little absent but dealing with some personal family issues at the moment so have not had time for much blogging. Will be back shortly x
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne, I've tagged you in the Next Big Thing Blog Hop! Details are on my blog :) http://throughthegateway.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma.
DeleteI've nominated you for the Liebster Award. The details are on my blog. Feel free to check it out. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here! I can't remember the last time I watched a new series. Too busy with other stuff, I guess.
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes it's easier to watch a series you know.
DeleteHoly six-pack! My mom recommended I watch Arrow, and now I understand why, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge 'Fringe' fan, but the show just ended a few weeks ago :( I also watch 'Community' (it's hilarious) but this is the last season, too. I haven't found any new shows that really strike my interest.
New follower via GFC! my blog is nickieanderson.blogspot.com
Lol Yes, you should definitely watch Arrow :-)
