The verse from the traditional poem goes as follows;
"The gleaming ruby should adorn,
All those who in July are born,
For thus they'll be exempt and free,
From lover's doubts and anxiety."
The birthstone flower is Larkspur
Happy Birthday if you are celebrating a birthday this month
Such a cool color, rubies. I totally forgot what stone is my month. Off to look it up! :)
ReplyDeleteAloha Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by, say hi and return the follow favor :)
PS... How cool, I get to have my pic next to Cassie Mae and Morgan and DPK is above me... you have attracted some awesome bloggers :)
(except for me... I talk too much, but I do thank you for telling me the birthstone of No. 1 Son (who will celebrate a birthday later this month :)
Awww thanks, Mark, it's good to meet you too. Happy birthday to your son later this month. Are you going buy him a ruby?!
DeleteI love rubies! Lucky people who have birthdays this month.
ReplyDeleteKinda makes me wish I was born in July. Then again, aquamarine isn't a terrible stone either :)
ReplyDeleteI think all the birthstones are pretty cool in their own way. But you are right guys, rubies are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt's my first time with the IWSG and I had to stop by to say hello. My birthstone in Diamond I believe - April/Aries. Lucky I suppose. I prefer rubies though - my favourite colour is red. :)
ReplyDeleteYes April's birthstone is a Diamond. Expensive gem but not as interesting in colour as some of the others. I'm a garnet myself which is also red but I do love amethysts!
DeleteI wish rubies were my birthstone! I was always bummed when I was younger that I got something as generic as the diamond ;)
