It is always good to stay positive and that is why I like this simple hop so much. It really makes you stop and think about the last few days. Sometimes the good stuff really pops out at you and finding the celebrations is easy. Other weeks things may not have gone so well, and the last thing you feel like doing is celebrating, but it is amazing how thinking of the simplest thing can lift your spirits.
I tried a new recipe. Do you get fed up of cooking the same meals for the family? Sometimes I just want to shake it all up a bit and try something different! I flicked through a cook book and decided on a Mary Berry chicken recipe using cream cheese, sun blushed tomatoes, garlic and lemon, then covered in a few fresh breadcrumbs parmesan cheese and chives. Should have taken a picture but only thought about it after we'd eaten it! Will definitely make it again. Whilst searching, a few other things caught my eye, so I think I will test some other new recipes over the coming weeks.
I've done a little writing this week. Only a few hundred words on my new project, but it's progress. I've been so busy with editing the last few weeks that it is quite nice to think about something new. I am starting to visualise these new characters and their conversations are playing in my head, which I think is a promising sign.
Following on from last week's post reference the new glasses, I can report a decision has been made! Thank you so much for all your comments, it was really interesting to read them. As I was struck with a bug for a couple of days last week, it was the weekend before I went back into the opticians and, as it happened, this was a good thing. A new delivery of frames had just arrived! Conversation went something like:
Optician - "I think we may have something new in you'll like."
Me - " Really?"
Husband - sighs and mutters under his breath, "Oh no, we are going to be here for hours!"
Me - "Are they purple?"
Optician - "Yes."
You get the picture, right? Anyway, they should arrive in a couple of weeks. I will post a picture when I have them.
Finally, this week I'd like to celebrate the power of a hug and the warmth of a friendly smile, whether a giver or receiver be.
Please note I may have little access to internet over the weekend so I will visit blogs and return comments as I am able. Thanks for visiting. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

This blog-hop really is ~an attitude of gratitude~ (smile)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, Suzanne. Thanks for visiting me.
Attitude of gratitude is a great way to say it.
DeleteI'm so glad you'll get your new purple glasses soon. Every time you look in the mirror you'll be like "Who's that with the cool glasses? Oh! It's me!" lol Great news about the recipe working out. I have about a 25% success rate with new recipes, so I don't try them too often. Good luck with the new ones! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping they'll be great!
DeleteAh, new glasses and my favorite color...Yes, I get fed up cooking the same meals. Need to mix it up a bit. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think colour is important. It can really change your mood, so getting it right is a priority for me. Thanks for the visit, Cathrina.
DeleteI love trying new recipes, I have a Mary Berry cookbook that I've been meaning to try out.
ReplyDeleteI like her recipes. They seem quite easy to follow. Hope you get to try some soon.
DeleteThat chicken recipe sounds really good! Glad you're getting your purple glasses :)
ReplyDeleteWill make it again, Sarah. Hopefully glasses should be here in about a week now. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteKnew you'd go for purple!
ReplyDeleteRecipe sounds good but how do you get tomatoes to blush? Aren't they already blushing?
I like to stick to character, Alex! Good question, embarrass them maybe?
DeleteThe wife and I are on a new diet...so we're experiencing a LOT of different recipes lately! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh good luck with the diet plan.
DeleteThe recipe sounded great till I read Parmesan cheese - YUK!
ReplyDeleteI hate buying glasses. They cost a lot and the choice it confounding. Purple is brave, I usually still with brown/bronze. :)
Sending cyber hugs - not quite the same, but the thought is there :)
Have a great weekend :)

I think parmesan cheese smells strange but I like the taste!
DeleteI know, glasses are so expensive I wanted to make the right choice for me. Hope I still love them when I have to wear them everyday!
I eat the same thing every day, so nothing new for me haha
ReplyDeleteNot even a different flavour?
DeleteI love trying out new recipes - both my parents and my aunt got me two different Mary Berry cookbooks for Christmas! So I'm currently working my way through them when I remember :). Good luck with the new recipes! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have lots of recipes to try, Rachel.
DeleteGreat idea Suzanne, it's the small things in life that do count, like a hug from a daughter, or a kiss from a grandchild.
ReplyDeleteImportant things indeed :)
DeleteI'd luv to try out new recipes, if only I could cook! I'm really, really bad at it. Glad that I write better than I cook. Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marilyn, hope you had a nice weekend too.
