It can't possibly be Friday yet ...... can it?

Last Sunday we went for a walk around Mevagissey Harbour. It was beautiful, very tranquil with the boats bobbing about and the water lapping around the rocks. We saw the most enormous jellyfish, apparently there are a lot about at the moment due to the weather. No picture of a jellyfish, but here are a couple of the harbour.

It was nice to start the week in a relaxing way because thereafter it just seemed to speed up! One of those weeks when I seem to have to try and be in several places at once. I don't really see the situation changing much for a few days either, so I'll hop around and catch up with you all just as soon as I can.

In the meantime . . .

Happy Weekend

Celebrate memories revisited

This week I have been going through some photo files and trying to tidy them up. It was fun to wander through the memories and I thought I would share one or two that might be of interest here. Living in Cornwall I am lucky enough to have access to many wonderful examples of standing stones and ancient sites. I hope you enjoy this small sample.

I took these a couple of years ago. I just loved the way the horses were wandering around the standing stones. The picture is of Lanyon Quoit, not far from St. Ives. The original structure is thought to date to the Neolithic period (3500-2500BC). It is believed that Lanyon, and other similar quoits, were used as ritual funeral sites.
The Men-an-tol (holed stone) dates to the Bronze Age. Various stories surround this unusual stone and it has been said to have healing powers, particularly if you pass through the stone. The hole in the centre is produced by natural weathering.

The final picture was taken on moorland near Lands End. The colour of the heather is just beautiful. And of course quite purple!

Two lovely ladies nominated me for blog awards this week.  Yvonne for the Creative Blogger award.

And Deanie Humphrys-Dunne for the Encouraging Thunder award.
For this I have to share 5 facts about me.
* I enjoy yoga, it helps with a knee problem I have had. I am quite proud of the fact I can stand on my head!
* I dislike coffee but love a nice cup of tea.
*I love cats and horses and unicorns.
*Five years ago I renewed my wedding vows with Elvis in Vegas
* In case there was still any doubt ... I love the colour purple!

Celebrate the small things

This week I'm celebrating a productive writing week. I sent off one short story for a competition, completed some editing on another project and produced a synopsis that I am happy with.

I am also celebrating losing an earring ........ and finding it again!

It's nearly the weekend! I've had a cold the last week and, although it is on the way out now (hopefully) it has left me feeling a bit washed out. There do seem a lot of coughs, colds and the like around, maybe the germs don't realise it is June already!

Happy Weekend

IWSG (June)

Thanks to Alex and all this months co-hosts

I am pleased to say, I don't think I have any particular new insecurities this month. The usual anxieties are always lurking beneath the surface ready to ruin my mood, but I am working hard to stay positive and not spend my days constantly checking my inbox!

I love writing and creating stories, I can't imagine a time when I won't, and I think that is the most important thing to remember. A contented writer is a successful writer.

Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally. - David Frost
