This month we are celebrating the two year anniversary of the mega IWSG, the brainchild of the Ninja himself Alex J. Cavanaugh.
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Trusty co-hosts this month are;
Chemist Ken http://hogwartssabbatical.blogspot.com/
SL Hennessey http://pensuasion.blogspot.com/
Michelle Wallace http://www.writer-in-transit.co.za/
Joylene Nowell Butler http://cluculzwriter.blogspot.com/
Insecurities this month?
Yes, the usual ones are trying to rear their ugly heads.
Am I good enough? Will I ever get there? Does anyone really like me or my writing???
BUT I'm trying to squash these insecurities and hold onto the believe in myself.
Repeat after me - I am good enough, I will get there and someone out there will just LOVE my writing really soon.
There that's better. Insecurities squashed!
That's a nice mantra! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kyra :)
DeleteLove it. It's true that if we're not careful we can get buried by all the negative feelings, and they weigh a lot more than the positive ones (which are fluffy and cloud-like). So the best way to avoid getting squashed is to avoid getting buried!
ReplyDeleteI so like fluffy clouds!
DeleteNice! Positivity does work...
ReplyDeleteI think it makes a difference.
DeleteSquashed just like a bug!
ReplyDeleteWe must not let negativity cloud our minds!
DeleteThese are great affirmations to help remind us of how awesome we are!
ReplyDeleteElsie
We are all awesome!
DeleteSquash away, wear a big shoe and step on them
ReplyDeleteMakes you feel real good!
DeleteFill you mind with positive and there is no room for the negative. Squash away! Love unicorns, btw. Wrote a whole book about it (for kids.) :) Happy IWSG Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHi Molly welcome. Unicorns rock, I write about them all the time!
DeleteI AM good enough. You have no idea how much I need that today. And Suzanne, you are amazing and you will get there. I've no doubt!
ReplyDeleteThat mantra is great, and so true! I need to remember that one :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome mantra. Mind if I borrow?
ReplyDeleteThat's a great mantra. You are good enough, and you will get there. Mine is "Eat the frog first" which makes very little sense out of context. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteIlima - Thank you so much, we all need to believe in ourselves. Positive thoughts :)
ReplyDeleteLaura - Hi Laura, glad you like it and repeat it often :)
Jai - Borrow away!
Rena - "Eat the frog first" yeah you may have to explain that one, Rena. Good luck to you too.
Going to repeat that several times-- hope it sinks in. Funny how I can so easily say that about other writers, but have a hard time speaking that to my heart.
ReplyDeleteI think we all struggle with it Julie :)
DeleteCertainly Karen :)
ReplyDeleteGreat mantra and one I'm going to remember so I can squash my own insecurities. Nice post! :)
ReplyDeleteYay go us!
DeleteKeep squashing those insecurities!
ReplyDeleteI'll try, Misha :)
DeletePerfect mantra! We all struggle with those exact thoughts, I think. I need to keep that mantra in mind!
ReplyDeletePositive thoughts, Shallee, positive thoughts!
DeleteI will repeat your encouraging words often during the day.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I hope it helps Yvonne, welcome to my blog.
DeleteI'm repeating, and repeating, and repeating. Thanks, Suzanne!
ReplyDeleteI'm repeating with you, Joylene!
DeleteYou are always good enough. Because you are the only one who can tell a particular story that no one else can!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pep talk! You are good enough. You can do it. :)
ReplyDeleteStephen - We are all unique. Thanks for your support.
ReplyDeleteGran Turismo Driver - hello and welcome aboard.
Christine - I hope so. Thank you for your support.
Love the mantra! Very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThank you Emma.
DeleteExcellent - you talked yourself out of it! It's hard not to listen to that gremlin on your shoulder. I picture mine as that clingy thing in the advert for cough medicine of some sort (oh dear, wish I'd paid more attention!)that is cast off with a wail!
ReplyDeleteI know the one you mean Linda!
DeleteYour mantra is perfect! Just what I need! I'm going to print it out and repeat it as needed. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Chrys and welcome to my blog. I am a believer if positivity hope it works for you too.
DeleteHey, give us a chance too! We want to show you that we like your writing if you'll let us!
ReplyDeleteHeather
Aww thanks Heather :)
DeleteAm repeating after you ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe we can start a group chant!
DeleteWhen you write from the heart there will always be those who will respond and love your story.
ReplyDeletePretty damn good mantra, in my opinion!
Sia McKye Over Coffee
Thank you Sia, I always try and write from within.
DeleteYes! Love that mantra! :)
ReplyDeleteI should write that down on a sticky for my monitor...nice words to remember.
Stick away, Mark!
DeleteI echo Mark- where's a stickynote?
ReplyDeleteThanks Beverly!
DeleteGreat mantra. Thanks for that. It's so easy to get lost in the fear of failure.
ReplyDeleteA fear of failure can stifle our creativity.
DeleteGreat squashing!!!! You should make a button of those for us to put on our blogs. You know, like a pledge type thing. With a link to you, of course, so people can discover how great you are ;-)
ReplyDeleteTina @ Life is Good
What a great idea Tina, I might just do that! Revise that, I might get someone who knows how to do it make one for me!
Delete*claps hands for Suzanne* I believe in you.
ReplyDelete........dhole
Thank you Donna, that is much appreciated :)
DeleteI need to try that! :D Seems like your short sentence has inspired a lot of writers this week.
ReplyDeleteGreat to meet you through IWSG.
Like a bug. Here, let me get out my hammer. I need to do some squashing myself. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and well said! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this mantra!
ReplyDeleteWe must believe in ourselves and have passion for our writing. If we don't feel it, no one else will either...
Skyecallahan - Thanks good to meet you too.
ReplyDeleteCrystal - Squash away!
Jessika - Thank you :)
Kelley - Thank you :)
Michael - You are so right!
I definitely need to adopt your mantra. Great words of encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI guess it is true, we are never alone in our feelings. There are always others out there that are feeling the same or similar feelings as you are. Thank you for reminding me of that. Love your mantras; I live by similar mantras myself.
