I haven't managed to join the Friday celebrations for a couple of weeks and I have missed it. I think it is a great idea to reflect on the positives. I am often amazed at how much I have forgotten, or merely overlooked, in all the daily business of life until I sit down to write my Friday posting!
I've got a gorgeous hydrangea bush in the front garden. When I drove into the drive the other afternoon the colour of the flower heads really made me smile. I went straight out and picked a bunch to put in the living room. Such autumnal shades, I love them.
Had a lovely walk on Porthkidney Beach last Sunday with some friends.
The clocks have gone back which means darker evenings . . . not my favourite . . . however, it means I can close the curtains and light some scented candles. Love the cosy feeling.
Off to a firework display this evening. Hope the weather stays dry.
Happy weekend everyone.
Lots to celebrate - nature does shine a light during the dark autumnal days. Lovely pictures Suzanne. Thank you for sharing. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nicola you too.
DeleteHi Suzanne - Porthkidney beach .. wonderful area ... we used to park in the golf course and walk over the links to the dunes and the extensive beach ahead ... it is a fantastic part of the world - so appreciate where you went! My brother married in St Uny Church! Celebrating the small things ... you'll be pleased you've written these up in later life ... and aren't the hydrangeas beautiful ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI bet St Uny church made for some wonderful photos.
DeleteWe change time this weekend. Might be darker sooner at night, but it would be nice not to drive to work when it's as black a midnight outside.
ReplyDeleteI know, don't like it when its dark when you get in from work!
DeleteHopefully the firework display turns out grand. Time doesn't go back here until tomorrow night
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Our poor hydrangea had a bad year because of the drought. No blooms. I hope it recovers next year.
ReplyDeleteI love it! We have so many reasons to celebrate. We just have to take the time to look around and appreciate each aspect. The flowers are beautiful! Here's hoping there's a clear sky on your behalf.
ReplyDeleteThe hydrangeas are beautiful! With those and the scented candles, your house must smell great!
ReplyDeleteI love it when it starts to get darker at night, it means winter is on its way, my favourite season :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are lovely! I have one of those in the garden, but I believe it's planted in a bad location--too much sun and heat. I personally love the darker evenings because it means I finally get to sit down a bit before going to bed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by everyone and celebrating the little things! Hope you are enjoying your weekends.
ReplyDeleteI like the subtle colors of your hydrangea blooms. I see you write for children too, I am doing a first edit of my first children's book.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! Porthkidney Beach looks like such a beautiful, calming place to take a walk...
ReplyDeleteYou've reminded me – I have a big scented candle. Today would be a good time to light it.
ReplyDeleteWalking a beach is always so uplifting, and doing it with a friend just plain wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove those two photos, so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteMy hydrangeas got frost bit this spring, so I had no blooms for the summer or fall- just foliage. Maybe next year!
