Celebrate being back to blogging...

I haven't been around much online the last few weeks. This is for a variety of reasons, but mainly I have been working on my ms. Every spare minute has been used to tweak and edit and I have tried to keep distractions like blogging and twitter on hold! I am happy to report that it has been time well spent and I have been quite productive. The ms is almost ready for submission! YAY!

In other news, we had an Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea party.

Look cake!!

and more food...

I used vintage tea cups and jugs to put some of the food in...

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here...

This only about four miles from where I live and they hold an annual Food Festival which is always popular. This year saw their inaugural Literary Festival alongside. They had some great YA authors appearing so obviously I had to go along and say hello. Hopefully, it will become as popular as the food side of the festival.

It is a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK. Hopefully the extra day will give me the opportunity to finish of my submission letter.

Happy weekend to you all

  1. Congratulations on finishing your book. I think your priorities were right on. I've done less blogging for the same reason, and I can see the end goal coming closer and closer.

On another note, what a clever idea: an Alice in Wonderland tea party. Did you do any costumes?

    1. Simple costumes... I had a dormouse mask, hubs was mad hatter and daughter, Alice... well she was Alice obviously!

  9. I went to that food festival one year - glorious weather and I went shoeless on the beach. I was in a thick jacket today! How cool they've got a literary festival too. There are a lot popping up around Cornwall, it's a good place to be a writer at the moment :-)

Good to have you back, and congrats on finishing your ms.

  10. Hi Suzanne,

Oh my, its taken me until Saturday evening to finally get your blog.

It seems you been away from blogging for all the right reasons and you realised your priorities. Congrats on being almost ready for submission. Hmmm...maybe that didn't sound right! :)

Nothing like a bit of a "Mad Hatter's" tea party. Enjoy the extra long weekend.

    Gary :)

  11. Lovely to see you back online! I'm so excited you'll be submitting again soon - best of luck! Is that Porthleven I can see? It looks beautiful. I'm a bit further up in Fowey right now, making my annual pilgrimage to all-things-Daphne. I love Cornwall - you're so lucky to live here. Have a great bank holiday Hxx
