Celebrate the small things

Where are the weeks going, does anyone out there know? October is charging on towards November and I seem to be struggling to keep up. On the plus side, in the UK, the half term holiday is not too far away which means more writing time for me for a week - so YAY for that! More on that next week but for now I will take a few moments to look back at the last seven days and celebrate those small things that often get overlooked. This is one of the reasons I love this simple blog hop, it gives you a chance to reflect and be thankful. So thanks to Viklit for hosting along with her team of co-hosts.

*We had the living room carpet and sofa cleaned recently. It has given it a new lease of life but sadly made the coffee table look sad so we went out and bought some new furniture. A couple of occasional tables and a sideboard. It will take a few weeks to arrive but it is nice to have something to look forward to. Also means Hubby has the chance to paint the ceiling before it arrives!

*I also bought a new purple dress (that always cheers me up). Will look forward to wearing that soon.

*I finished reading Maze Runner which means I can go and see the movie this week.

*I am going to a Salsa dancing workshop tonight. I haven't done it in a while as our local class closed down so it will be fun to put my dancing shoes back on,

Happy weekend everyone.

  2. What did you think of The Maze Runner? It felt like Lord of the Flies meets Hunger Games to me. Truthfully, the book just made me angry. All the angst and testosterone...

    1. It did take me a few chapters to get into the book but I enjoyed it when I did. Have heard good things about the movie.

    2. The movie was excellent. Better than the book if you ask me, but then again, my opinion of the book wasn't all that great.

    1. Even a small change can liven up a room can't it? Thanks for visiting, Hilary.

  4. Enjoy the dancing!
Isn't that how it always happens? You fix one thing and then realize everything needs fixing.

  7. I'd love to know what you think of the Maze Runner! It sounds as if you've been having a really good autumn. I'm looking forward to the Half-term too - I think my whole family is more than ready for it. Enjoy the dancing xx

    1. Hoping to get to see the movie this week but depends how things go! Took me a few chapters to get into the book but once I did I enjoyed the read. Interested to see how it translates to screen.

  8. I have no idea where all the weeks are going, either! Feels like all I did was blink, and bam, October's halfway over. o_O

Glad you have so much awesome stuff to celebrate, though! Hope the Salsa dancing workshop goes well! :)

  9. The weeks are flying by me too. New paint, new furniture, clean furniture, and a book read are all great - but salsa dancing, that sounds like awesome fun!

  10. Yay for time to write, a purple dress, and salsa dancing lessons! That sounds like fun. I love Latin music. After hearing what happened when you cleaned your carpet and sofa - I'm never cleaning mine!! lol

  12. Sounds like you had a lot to celebrate! New furniture is always sweet and did I ever mention that purple is my number one favorite color? :)

Oh, but what I wouldn't do to be able to go salsa dancing again. I have to get my gait as close to where it was and my rhythm coordinated again. Actually, I've regained a lot of the coordination. I need to work more on strength, balance and focus. Little by little, I guess.

Thanks for sharing and have a great day! Eva

  13. Isn't that way, though? Fix one thing in the house and something else needs attention because it's now shabby looking by comparison.

I haven't seen The Maze Runner yet, but loved the book.
