Wow. I know it's not really the point, but this post is such a good example of the way a few heartfelt words and a picture can be so much more moving than if you'd written reams of poetry or clever prose. I think it's beautiful xx

I can imagine this month has been tough for you, Suzanne. My dad died in June of 2012 and I found the anniversary so difficult. I'm so sorry for your loss but this is a lovely tribute to your mother. Wonderful picture of her.
Today's my birthday, and this is the first year of my life my mom hasn't been here to share it with me. I know the sadness and immense loss you're feeling. It can't be otherwise.
