This month's awesome co-hosts
I feel like I'm swimming through treacle
Apologies for the use of blatant cliche but it sums me up so well at the moment. September was pretty - blah! Maybe it was getting back into work after the summer break, maybe it was losing our beautiful cat, maybe it was the two university visits that took up two weekends, maybe it was the 3 birthday parties or maybe it was a combination of all of the above, but my word count on my WIP during September was a big fat zero.
I am determined to make October better. I hope my muse agrees to come play because I have plans!

With a month packed like that, how could the muse want to play? October is a super writing month! Can't wait to hear how much you get done :)
ReplyDelete'Thanks, I can't wait to get stuck in!
DeleteYes, lets hope October is a better month for many who 's September wasn't so good.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Here, here, Yvonne. Hope your shoulder is improving.
DeleteHi Suzanne .. you've been busy and losing Buttons was a sudden and devastating blow ...
ReplyDeleteI hope your muse picks up now the Autumn is approaching .. with thoughts - Hilary
Thanks, Hilary. It was a blow and I think we are all still in a bit of shock if the truth be told.
DeleteWhat's cool is you can reset your goals and try again!
ReplyDeleteAnd losing a pet is always draining.
Hi Alex, they are like part of the family so it is hard. Trying to refocus those goals right now.
DeleteThat's a very busy and emotional month you had - no wonder the writing suffered a little. I hope October is a little calmer for you.
ReplyDeleteIf we are emotionally drained I think our writing suffers, well probably everything suffers in some way.
DeleteWow, you've had a lot going on! Hopefully October will be smoother. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hoper for smoother and calmer!
DeleteHey, give yourself a break. You've had a busy and emotionally draining month. Creativity is bound to suffer. October will be better! :D

I hope so, Shah. I want to get back into the flow.
DeleteLots of maybes there haha but sometimes life does just get in the way
ReplyDeleteYour right there Pat!
DeleteNo wonder you didn't get much done, it sounds like you had a busy month! Good luck on getting more done this month, I'm sure you can do it :)
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, thank you for your encouragement.
DeleteOH Suzanne, my heart can SO RELATE! I think I started in July and, unfortunately, I'm not seeing a change in the non-routine until January. I just try to take a deep breath and realize life happens while I'm trying to write and trust that it will ultimately feed the writing base. Bah-- sorry it's been so busy and distracting for you.

Co-host IWSG October
Sorry for you too, Julie, sometimes the harder we try to fit everything in the more overwhelming it appears!
DeleteI'm sorry you lost your cat. :( I know how that feels. Last month I thought my cat was going to pass on. She's old and blind. I cried myself to sleep that night, but she is better. Again, I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI didn't write much at all last month either. But sometimes we have blah days . . . or months. We're entitled. At least we can make it up this month. :) Good luck!
Oh no Chrys, it's heartbreaking isn't it? Glad she is better.
DeleteSounds like you were busy, and that's okay. Good luck with October, you can do it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ilima, encouragment spurs me on!
DeleteOuch, sounds like September wasn't really on your side. I'm sure you'll get more done on your WIP in october. Sorry about your cat, that's terrible.
ReplyDeleteHi Rena and thanks for stopping by. I trying to put some time aside for me this month.
DeleteUm, yeah! I'd say it was the combination of all of that that did your word count in. But you've got to take time for life, so no being hard on yourself for doing that.
ReplyDeleteI know we all have to fit real life in too. Thanks for the support, Nicki.
DeleteThe treacle must be crowded this time of year. I've definitely been dog paddling in it. Hope things get better for all of us soon. I'm back from break, which didn't seem to last long enough, but I'm enjoying reconnecting with my blogger friends.
ReplyDeleteWell I thought it was! Was that you I passed swimming upstream last week?
DeleteHi Suzanne, September was a bad month where my current WIP was concerned. I wrote very little and that too very ordinary stuff which I am sure I will rewrite. Lets hope your and my muse comes to our help in October.
ReplyDeleteRachna Chhabria
Co-host IWSG
Rachna's Scriptorium
I hope we can both have successful months, Thanks for being an IWSG co-host this month.
DeleteOctober will totally rock--because that's what October does. Here's to going forward, eh?
ReplyDeleteOnwards and upwards - it's gonna be a busy time for you Crystal.
DeleteDon't worry, Suzanne. Smoke the muses out to play, and if they don't, then start the party without them. Eventually they'll join you. It's just matter that you start writing and that will lure them. :) Dragon Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThis happens to me so many times, Suzanne, usually when I've just pressed send and it is an important communication!
ReplyDeleteWow! These comments are so inspiring. I love how everyone is admitting that there are days, weeks and months when real life gets in the way...but then they all refocus and carry on. So much determination in one blog post! It's certainly made me feel as if I have to go and write - I hope it's worked for you too, Suzanne xx
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh... September was so blah to me too!!!! But I feel renewed strength and hope for October... here's to a new muse...
ReplyDeleteMaybe my muse and yours have run off together....lol!
ReplyDeleteI know you will be able to write your butt off in October. You can do it, Suzanne!
