My writing mantra (IWSG SEPT)

This month we are celebrating the two year anniversary of the mega IWSG, the brainchild of the Ninja himself Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Trusty co-hosts this month are;

Joylene Nowell Butler http://cluculzwriter.blogspot.com/

Insecurities this month?
Yes, the usual ones are trying to rear their ugly heads.

Am I good enough? Will I ever get there? Does anyone really like me or my writing???

BUT I'm trying to squash these insecurities and hold onto the believe in myself.

Repeat after me - I am good enough, I will get there and someone out there will just LOVE my writing really soon.

There that's better. Insecurities squashed!

  1. Love it. It's true that if we're not careful we can get buried by all the negative feelings, and they weigh a lot more than the positive ones (which are fluffy and cloud-like). So the best way to avoid getting squashed is to avoid getting buried!

  9. That's a great mantra. You are good enough, and you will get there. Mine is "Eat the frog first" which makes very little sense out of context. Good luck!

  11. Going to repeat that several times-- hope it sinks in. Funny how I can so easily say that about other writers, but have a hard time speaking that to my heart.

  21. Excellent - you talked yourself out of it! It's hard not to listen to that gremlin on your shoulder. I picture mine as that clingy thing in the advert for cough medicine of some sort (oh dear, wish I'd paid more attention!)that is cast off with a wail!

  35. I guess it is true, we are never alone in our feelings. There are always others out there that are feeling the same or similar feelings as you are. Thank you for reminding me of that. Love your mantras; I live by similar mantras myself.
