Happy Friday everyone, hope you have had a good week. I'm finishing the week with a cold but hey ho!
I'll cheer myself up by celebrating the little things that keep us going in this fun weekly hop hosted by Viklit at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author. Why not head over and sign up ready for next week, it's a great way to help focus on the small things that easily get overlooked in our busy lives.
So this week I'm celebrating - Learning how to email documents to my Kindle! This is probably so easy for most of you but I'm not the most techno minded person in the world and I'm proud of working it out all by myself!
Finally, as I hinted at in the title, I'm after a small favour from any of you who use Twitter or Facebook. My daughter, who is at university studying Advertising and Marketing, is undertaking an assignment that involves producing an eco online campaign. She has produced a Facebook page and a Twitter account in the name of her eco character - Poly Ethylene. She would be delighted if you could hop over and maybe 'like' or follow her links. I even set up a Twitter account myself last night (yikes another first to celebrate I guess!) and I will try and get my head around how it all works. I want to help her if I can, obviously because I'm her mum, but also because it will hopefully be jolly useful having my own qualified Advertising/Marketing expert in the future! And she said she would make me some more graphics for my blog!
Anyway the links are below should you feel able to help her out or simply want to have a look what she is up to! A million thanks in advance.
Happy weekend one and all :)
I'm not on Facebook, but be happy to follow on Twitter!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alex that is most kind of you.
DeleteWow! That Facebook page looks awesome - I'm going to go back and have a proper look around...
ReplyDeleteAww thanks, Helen I'll let her know you like it. Thanks for your help with this one.
DeleteI'll hop over and have a look. It's all about the networking, isn't it.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly seems to be, Julia. Thanks for your support.
DeleteLiked on facebook and followed on twitter :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Laura. I'm know you know all about these university assignments. Glad you got yours covered. I'll be sure to download your poems.
DeleteThere are so many learning curves with each of these technological thingies! Glad you're picking it up. Kindle still confuses me some. Guess it would help if I had one! WIll check out your daughter's links. Writer’s Mark
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Nancy. As I said I'm a bit of a clutz with technology but I'm getting there! Enjoy your lazy weekend sounds like you deserve it :)
DeleteCongrats on getting the documents over! Those things always throw me for a loop too. And I'm following her on Twitter now. Good luck to her!
ReplyDeleteGlad it's not just me! Thanks so much for all your help it is much appreciated.
DeleteI have followed her on twitter!
ReplyDeleteI too just got a kindle and have been learning how to use it!
Thank you, Vikki. Have fun with your Kindle!
DeleteI still don't own an e-reader, so I download e-books on my pc. Sounds like you've got some wonderful things to celebrate today. Wishing your daughter lots of success.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. With so many ebooks out there these days we have to have some way of reading them don't we!
DeleteI'll follow both of you on Twitter! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat, Livia thank you so much. I'll do my best to get Twitter savvy as soon as possible!
DeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteI'm really behind the times. I don't have a Kindle and I can barely use an "Etch-A-Sketch" :)
Consider those links shared as of now. Enjoy the weekend, my friend.
Gary
Thank you, Gary most kind of you. I actually always wanted an Etch-A-Sketch as a kid!
DeleteI gave Poly Ethylene a follow. What a cool endeavour your daughter is undertaking - we could use more eco warriors!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nick :)
DeleteHate facebook so I avoid that, but followed by the cat, he has 20,000 more follower than Pat, so he got the follow haha
ReplyDeleteon twitter that is.
DeleteThen thank you Cat for all of that!
DeleteSuzanne, I've nominated you for the Sunshine Award. Please visit: www.dhdunne.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteThat is sweet of you Deanie, thank you :)
DeleteWill go check it out. If you want to add me on twitter, my tag is @MishaMFB. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Misha I'm a novice at Twitter but I'm sure I'll get there!
DeleteDone both, Suzanne. I'm looking forward to hearing how it went.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Joylene. Daughter is amazed by all the support out there.
DeleteYay for figuring out something about your Kindle! I just bought a tablet (there aren't any e-readers in Egypt) and trying to get it to read books is kicking my butt. It's Android, and I have to download some "Aldiko" thing and install it. I'm about as techno-gifted as you, so it'll be a challenge. :(
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that, Lexa!
DeleteNew technology is good, it keeps old brains working!
ReplyDeleteI'm not on Facebook or Twitter but I do like looking at what other people are doing on there (it's the time factor that puts me off joining in). Very impressed with your daughter's Facebook page - I've bookmarked it and will look in again.
Thanks for taking a look, Linda. I know what you mean about the time factor, I'm not sure I can cope with much more!
ReplyDeleteI'm not on Facebook either, but happy to follow you on twitter.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy :)
DeleteHi Suzanne .. I'll have a look at your daughter's site once the rest of the week comes around .. I don't really do either FB or Tw .. but need to start.
ReplyDeleteI haven't a clue about Kindle but this week that will be addressed and I'll start learning about it .. so if I can email that a-way .. thanks for the tip!
Have a good week .. cheers Hilary
I find emailing my completed manuscript to my Kindle a great way to read it through and check editing etc. It somehow makes it seem like a real book!
DeleteThis sounds really interesting! Maybe we can follow one another on Twitter?

I am still getting to grips with the whole Twitter thing but will look out for you Gina. Thank you :)
DeleteThank you for following me, Suzanne. It's much appreciated.
