IWSG (MAY)

Thanks to our host Alex J. Cavanaugh

co-hosts this month are Nancy Gideon, Tamara Narayan,Liesbet @ Roaming About, Michelle Wallace, and Feather Stone

I'm trying not to let insecurities drag me down at the moment. They are definitely there, lurking and ready to pounce, but I keep pushing them away and trying not to let them get hold and knock my confidence which also feels a little fragile at the minute, so I am not going to talk about them anymore today.

What is the weirdest/coolest thing you ever had to research for your story?

I guess one person's weird is another's normal in the case of research! It depends what you are writing about and for who. A lot of my research centres around folklore and myth - and some of that can lead to some interesting reading.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope the insecurities are few and far between this month.

  1. Myths are always fascinating. They started from a kernel of truth somewhere.

  3. Oooh... REsearching folklore and myth can be so much fun, I almost forget about the story I'm writing (along with my family). I can spend days researching that topic.

  4. I used to love researching myths. Now I'm more interested in facts--why does this law of physics work? How would it apply in a submarine? Space? Alternate universe?

  7. I've always been interested in myths, but I haven't used them in my writing in any way yet. Maybe someday!

  8. Folklore and myth give so many insights into our cultures. Researching that would be immensely interesting.

  9. Folkore and myth are more of my "usual" research, too and they do make for some interesting reading.
    Happy writing in May!

  11. So true, what I may think is weird is normal to another person.

  12. We've got to be careful about believing the lies and myths we tell ourselves. IF only we knew they were lies. :)

  13. Good job at keeping the doubts away where they belong, Suzanne.

  14. Your topic would be fun to research. I hope things perk up soon! I really agree with T. Powell Coltrin's comment.
