Celebrate being back to blogging...

I haven't been around much online the last few weeks. This is for a variety of reasons, but mainly I have been working on my ms. Every spare minute has been used to tweak and edit and I have tried to keep distractions like blogging and twitter on hold! I am happy to report that it has been time well spent and I have been quite productive. The ms is almost ready for submission! YAY!

In other news, we had an Alice in Wonderland afternoon tea party.

Look cake!!

and more food...

I used vintage tea cups and jugs to put some of the food in...

I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon here...

This only about four miles from where I live and they hold an annual Food Festival which is always popular. This year saw their inaugural Literary Festival alongside. They had some great YA authors appearing so obviously I had to go along and say hello. Hopefully, it will become as popular as the food side of the festival.

It is a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK. Hopefully the extra day will give me the opportunity to finish of my submission letter.

Happy weekend to you all

Congratulation and best wishes, Chrys.

I should be back to full blogging mode next week and will post a round-up of what I have been up to during the last few weeks. Until then, take it away, Chrys ...

He woke to the aroma of tomato, basil, and garlic, and
found Beth in the kitchen wearing one of his black shirts with a belt around
her hips. The shirt fell to the tops of her thighs. Despite what he had gone
through today, a smile manifested on his face.

“What are you cooking?”

Beth twirled on her bare feet. “Lasagna. I walked across
the street to the grocery store to get the ingredients I needed and used the
money you left for pizza. There’s also garlic bread.” She paused. “I wanted to
do something nice for you. After everything we’ve been through, and all the
peanut butter sandwiches we consumed at the police department, I figured we deserved
a good, home-cooked meal.”

He smiled. To some, a meal might be a small thing, but to
him, it was a big gesture.
“It smells great.” He peered down at her
body. “And I can see you raided my closet.”

“I don’t have any clothes here, so I created a makeshift
dress out of your shirt and belt. Do you like it?”

Donovan pulled her to him and devoured her lips. Beth
reacted instantly, grabbing his shoulders and moaning. He hadn’t meant to get
carried away, but feeling her reaction to him exploded whatever control he
possessed.
