Celebrations and Reflections

I've not been around the blogosphere much lately. If you read my earlier post you know that I have been going through a period of adjustment and for whatever reason I haven't felt much like blogging. If the truth be told I've been drifting . . .

. . . going through the motions of the day but having little energy for more.

However, in the spirit of trying to get myself sorted, I am determined to join in with the celebrations hop this week. So here we go . . .

* My baby girl turns 21 on Saturday! I may not be physically with her to celebrate but I'm sure we'll Skype or chat during the day. Hopefully we'll get to meet up later in the month.

* Being at home on our own has some advantages  - like less washing in the basket!

* I went to see Bridget Jones's Baby the other night. I thought it was a fun movie and Hubby was even brave enough to come with me! He was slightly outnumbered though. In the packed theatre audience I think I counted about four men!

* Our apple tree has lots of fruit on it - apple crumble this weekend then . . . yummy!

   Happy Friday

  1. Hi Suzanne - sometimes needs must - we just feel easier wandering along life - til something spurs us on again. Congratulations to your daughter for her 21st - and you'll enjoy the celebrations as they happen - always good to spread them out. The apples sound as though you will have lots of crumbles and yummy stew winter ... cheers Hilary

  2. I think adjustments in life happen to us all sometimes in our lives but with time and tenacity we get there, I wish your daughter a happy 21st. Being there in thought is just as important.
    I wish you a happy week-end Suzanne.
    Yvonne.

  8. Happy Birthday to your daughter! It was nice of your husband to go to a "chick flick" with you. Don't worry about drifting. Sometimes, we need a lot of down time to recharge our batteries. Have a lovely weekend!

  10. Change can be good, but getting used to the change is another thing altogether. It takes awhile to settle into a new routine. Happy Birthday to your daughter! And enjoy that apple crumble. Definitely yummy!

  11. On my 21st birthday, my dad sent a huge bouquet of flowers to my dorm and it made me cry.

I'd love to have an apple tree. Our neighbor has several and they are small, but so tasty.

  12. Oh, those poor men at Bridget Jones - did they form a support group in the foyer afterwards? ;-)

Happy birthday to your daughter - if you have to wait to celebrate with her, it just elongates the fun for her!

Drifting is normal every so often, but glad to see you back.

  13. I just got some apples from my grandma's tree. I spent the morning bottling 11 quarts of apple pie filling. One broke and I almost cried.

    Happy birthday to your daughter!

  16. Happy birthday to your daughter! I saw you commented elsewhere and I was so excited I had to pop right over. Sometimes life throws us off. I hope you're feeling balanced, whatever else is going on. Have some cheese, eh?
