Celebrate the small things

I seem to have let two week slip by without posting again. My excuse (if I need one!) is that I have been focusing a lot on editing my ms. Any spare time has been donated to working on it and I am pleased with the way it is progressing so it has been time well spent.

I also sent out a couple of submissions of other work. I like to try and have things out and being read as much as possible. You never know where it may lead. Anyone who has ever submitted to agents or publishers will know how particular guidelines can vary so it is worth checking them carefully. It is amazing how long putting it all together can take and I spent a couple of evenings working on them.

In other news, I would like to thank our new dehumidifier. We were finding we were having a bit of a problem with damp so decided to invest in one. It seems to be making a difference so glad we did.

Finally, a few photos of the flowers I received for my recent birthday. I was very lucky and the house was full of a wonderful selection of blooms. Very cheery on the dark, wet days we have been having too. Other presents included a pile of new books (thank you lovely daughters) and a gorgeous necklace and bracelet from hubs.

Happy weekend everyone.

  5. Hi Suzanne - the flowers are wonderful to see ... what a great selection ... and don't they scent the house out. Lovely. I had some narcissi from the Scillies - I was happy!! That's good the dehumidifier is working ... Cornwall is damp ... but let's hope this cures the 'ill' .. cheers Hilary

  6. Yes, submitting to agents is hard - I always read and re-read the guidelines, and still panic that I've missed something.

    Fingers crossed for you :-)

  15. Happy belated birthday and the flowers are lovely. Since I have allergies, this is the best way for me to enjoy them.

Glad to hear revisions are going well and that's a great excuse for not posting. I know when I dig in and it's going well, I want to keep going. Best of luck.
