Celebrate life!

I have been trying to slowly ease myself back on line over the past week, if I haven't managed to catch up with you yet, apologies, I will get there soon! I have been taking the opportunity to work on my ms while I had the chance so my focus has been there. I can report, that following another round of edits, I am feeling quite pleased with it. Time to seek an outside opinion from a couple of readers! Always a tense time.

I did take a few hours away from writing to go shopping with my girls. University supplies mainly, but it was fun to spend some time together. Also had a nice evening out with hubby, just the two of us, which was a change. We both definitely feel as if we are embarking on a new chapter in our lives, with both girls at university the next couple of years are likely to bring fresh challenges for us all. Maybe it is the writer within me that always thinks of major changes and life adjustments as new chapters, a chance to move forward and grow in different ways. We may have an outline in our head of what the next page will look like, but until we actually turn the page and live it we will never know. Scary ...? perhaps, but also a little exciting.

Happy Friday friends

  6. Very true, we can plan the next page but doesn't always work out how we think

  7. I hadn't thought of welcoming change as a new chapter as being a writer thing, but I reckon you're right! My daughter's off to uni next month but my son has been to uni, finished and is now living at home again while he saves some money. I should definitely have had a smaller gap between my children!

  8. I don't know why, but this blog post really cheered me up :) - it's great to hear things are going so well, and I wish you every bit of luck with your ms and whatever the next chapter of life brings! While me and my partner like discussing what the future will bring, I have to agree with Pat that it never works out how we think it will (although, it still works out in a good way)! Good luck :)!

  9. I've always seen change as entering new rooms, but I love the chapter analogy - fits so much better. Sounds like your new chapter is off to a good start.

  10. I often think how wonderful it would be if I could write my life the way I writer my stories. Of course, then I wouldn't have the excitement of turning that page. Here's to that new chapter, Suzanne.

  11. It is something of a family joke that one of my mum's sayings is; 'Well, that's the end of another chapter,' whenever something momentous happens. She's a writer, too, so maybe that's why. My younger son has left home now, so there's me and hubby on our own for the first time in 25 years. What will we find to talk about!

  12. What a great analogy there! Turning the page is scary but just as exciting if we're to find out what the new chapters hold. Sigh.

Glad you've had the chance to work on your MS, spent time shopping with the girls, AND time with the hubby! Great celebrations! :D

Life is going to change ... but it'll be fun - just different ... enjoy these times - cheers Hilary

  19. Catching up with the online world is always time-consuming, so take all the time you need! (It took me a few weeks to feel fully caught up this summer, for example, heh.)

And "a new chapter" is such a lovely way to phrase things. Enjoy this new chapter you're embarking on! :)
