Thanks as ever to our host Viklit at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author
- My toaster blew up! Not generally reason to celebrate I know but I fuelled my purple passion by replacing it with a shiny new purple one (I also bought the matching kettle - but ssh I think I got away with it!). Sorry family you know what I'm like *smiles sweetly.*
- I submitted two short stories to competitions.
- I have said 'no' to chocolate for over three weeks now.
- Hubby and I managed an evening out together on our own. It was great to sit down over a meal and have a proper chat. We always say we should try and do it more often.
- We've got a friend's birthday party to go to on Saturday which should be fun.
Have a lovely weekend.
See you all next week for IWSG and an April birthstone post
Hi Suzanne .. oh gosh - so frustrating when things stop working .. glad you had a happy time replacing two things! Great having that time out with Hubby .. and enjoy the party tomorrow night - then it's Mother's Day - have fun with the kids .. cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilary. Think they might be planning to take me out for dinner!
DeleteYou own a purple toaster now? Very cool! And good luck with the short story competitions--so exciting! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. It's a fun looking addition to the kitchen which makes me smile when I see it!
DeleteI love buying new appliances, too bad they cost money. Purple's one of my favorite colors! Having a dinner date with hubs is the bestest! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Cathrina, they weren't too expensive so I was quite pleased. Hope you have a fun weekend too.
DeleteYou must be thrilled with the new toaster and kettle! That's definitely something to celebrate. Glad you had a nice date night and I hope you have them more often. Little things like that are always fun. Good luck with the contests!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanie, they make me smile when I go into the kitchen anyway!
DeleteYay for purple toasters (even if it meant the death of another). Lol! I can't say that I see what's good w/ saying no to chocolate...but then I'm choco-adict ;) I'm crossing my fingers for you on the shorts! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate thing is for Lent. I like to challenge myself!
DeleteA purple toaster - that is so cool! Best of luck with the writing contests. Have fun at the party :)

DeleteYay on all counts! An evening out with the hubby, short story submissions, a spanking new purple toaster and matching kettle? What's not to celebrate? I'm still iffy about the chocolate thing...yay but not really lol Have fun at the party!
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah it isn't always easy to resist!
DeleteA new one can work better and looks nicer usually too
ReplyDeleteIndeed it does - no more burnt toast!
DeleteI'm so jealous of your purple toaster, that's my favourite colour. My sister has one too, and a big shiny purple bin to match it. I can't wait until I have a kitchen of my own; everything will be purple.
ReplyDeleteIt's the best colour! Wonder if I can sneak in a purple bin next?!
DeleteGood to have an update from you. I'll be sorry to see the Aquamarine story taken down - I think it's my favourite. But maybe the April unicorn will change my mind...
ReplyDeleteAww that's kind of you Helen. Diamond is waiting in the wings though!
DeletePurple toaster and kettle, nice!! Glad to hear you got a nice evening out with hubby. Good luck with the competitions!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much and thanks for visiting my blog.
DeleteCongrats on submitting your short-stories. I do the same every once in a while, and it can be an arduous process, but it's worthwhile to keep putting your stuff out there. Best of luck:)
ReplyDeleteA purple toaster is pretty cool, lol! You should celebrate your first piece of toast w/grape jelly. ;) Have fun at the bday party!
ReplyDeleteThe toaster sounds great. I get strangely excited when I have to buy things like that. And a meal with your hubby is definitely a reason to celebrate. Good luck with the submissions :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been denying myself sugar, mostly successfully, since the start of Lent and am hoping I can keep it up beyond Lent. I think it's just better for me in general.
ReplyDeleteOh-- and our coffee maker bit the dust, just in time for tax returns. We bought ourselves a new Keurig. Nice!
Ooh, purple toaster and kettle sound great! Good luck with your short stories, =)
ReplyDeleteNo to chocolate is worth celebrating, and pretty impressive for 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteI propose a toaster to your posting. A purple toaster and a kettle to match. How neat. I think my computer is about to blow up. Or maybe it's Google messing around with me.
No mention of chocolate, but I will mention that I hope the weekend turns out fine with your activities. Happy Mother's Day!
Gary :)
Mark - It can be fun to enter and you never know ...
ReplyDeleteLeandra - Hehe never thought of that!
Annalisa - Thanks, I know what you mean about the strange excitement factor!
Julie - Well done on your sugar challenge. I think most of us consume too much so cutting down is a good idea.
Mere - Thank you :)
Rhonda - I have only found it really hard on a couple of occasions, but I didn't give in!
Gary - Sorry about all the computer probs. I have heard a few people talking about these issues. Hope they get it sorted soon.
Thanks to everyone for visiting :)
Now I want a purple toaster. And a kettle to match. Love purple. Good luck with your stories and I hope the party was a lot of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a purple toaster! I'm more of a pink girl, but there's no way my husband would sanction pink. Purple, though....he might not bluster over purple. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fantastic weekend!
I love purple! Sounds like you have had a productive week, entering two competitions, and also a relaxing time out with your man too. Hope this week is good to you too!
ReplyDeleteJulie - Let's spread the purpleness!
ReplyDeleteVicki - Welcome, pink has to be my second fav colour!
Maria - Thanks for visiting :)
