One step at a time.

Have you ever got so tied up in an online life or allowed the lives of the characters and worlds we create takeover so that when 'real' life throws you a curve ball it can send you into a free fall? That's kind of where I've been the last few weeks. I'm not going to go into loads of details on my blog, it doesn't feel right and it's personal to my family but I woke up this morning and it felt right to write this post and let you all know that I'm still here. Down, definitely, but not out!  I've had some lovely supportive comments and emails and I truly appreciate each and every one of them, so thank you. I will try and visit a few blogs and catch up with you properly. If you are a new follower, I thank you, I will pop over and see you real soon.

I'm going to ease myself back into things gently and this post is the start of that journey. I know it will have it's ups and downs and there may be spells when I disappear offline for a day or two but I intend to try and kickstart my creative juices and continue to follow my writing dreams. Life, after all, is too short and precious to waste.

As I'm sure you will have all noticed it is February now! I did update my sidebar with details of this month's birthstone, the gorgeous Amethyst. One of my favourites as it happens, did I every tell you guys I'm rather fond of the colour purple?! Over the next few days I will post a sample from Amethyst's story but if it is your birthday this month can I take this opportunity to wish you a very 'Happy Birthday.' Here's the verse from the traditional Gregorian Birthstone Poem just for you.

The February born shall find
sincerity and peace of mind,
freedom from passion and from care,
if they, the amethyst will wear.

Your birth flower this month is the very pretty violet. Yay a purple flower as well!

You may recall that January's flower was the snowdrop. It is of European origin and several people commented on the fact that they didn't know this flower. Normally I have some in my garden and I wanted to post a picture but the weather had been so wet there weren't any around. However, I did go out for a lovely walk in the sunshine on Sunday and guess what? I saw literally hundreds of snowdrops. There were swathes of them in the woodland I was in, more than I had ever seen all together before, so naturally I took a couple of photos and to close this post I will share them with you.

Love the snowdrops. We don't get them here as it doesn't really get cold enough so thanks for the pics.

    1. They are a very dainty flower, you can see where they got their name. Especially when there is a carpet of them.

  4. I love the flower pics! :)

I'm sorry that you've been having a rough time, and I wish you all the best. I do agree that it's easy to get too caught up in our alternate (writing) lives, so that sometimes when something "real" happens, it is disconcerting. I hope that everything is going well for you.

    Best,

    Alexandra~
