Happy Monday morning everyone!
Really short post to apologise for my absence around the blogsphere for a few days. I have been hit by some sort of throat infection/laryngitis. Every time I have tried to speak over the weekend the family have dissolved in fits of laughter as I sound like a dalek! Must be bad because I haven't even gone into work today and that is very unusual for me as I hate having time off. But I figure if my nearest and dearest are dissolving in fits when I try to talk trying to talk to a bunch of school children is probably not the best idea! So staying inside in the warm and dry.
Our town had some floods over the weekend but we are OK at the moment but everywhere is so wet and it is still raining! Hope any fellow bloggers in the UK are safe and well. I did notice that Ellie has posted about the flooding near her. Hope things are looking better today, Ellie.
Take care and hopefully normal service resumed real soon.
Aww, hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteMy town took a big hit with the floods, lots of businesses and some homes were affected, but at least most of the water is out of the way for now. I live on a hill, so no problems for me! :D
Thanks, Kyra. The floods have been terrible, I feel so sorry for those who are affected.
DeleteSorry you are sick! A day off from the kids is probably a good idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alex I think they will cope without me for a bit!
DeleteI hope you feel better soon. The floods sound terrible. It's good to know that you are ok.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. It is weird having no voice. Thoughts are with those affected by the floods.
DeleteAw, sorry to hear that! I think I would be a bit scared if my family told me I was beginning to sound like a Dalek. But on the bright side, you just may get a visit from the Doctor. :)
ReplyDeleteI live in the US, but I know that my family up a few states from me was hit by that bad hurricane that we had running through here a few weeks ago, and they've had it rough. There's nothing worse than flooding and an overabundance of rain. I'm glad that you're alright, though!
Alexandra~
The forces of nature can be so unpredicatable and dangerous, the weather is something we can't control.
DeleteHope you feel better and be safe!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherry, I am feeling much better today and my voice is returning to 'normal.'
DeleteFeel better soon! Now I have this weird image of a Dalek with a cold. Hehehe.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how a dalek would blow it's nose? lol.
DeleteI hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cherie I'm feeling much better today :)
DeleteI hope you're back to a full functioning adult by the end of the week! I'm such a chatty cathy that I'd be lost if my voice disappeared! I don't really need it for the office but I'd lose my mind regardless!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog! About to stalk around a bit and learn what children's stories you have up your sleeve! I just dove into middle grade and I'm loving it!
Unedited has love for ya...
Hi Jen, great to meet you. I'll hop over to your blog and find out more :)
DeleteOh gosh, that sounds miserable, Suzanne... There are different kinds of sicknesses I handle better than others, but sore throats KILL me... I hate that...
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! And all the flooding sounds so awful. Those poor people! :/
Hi Morgan, I did feel a bit down in the dumps and couldn't even get motivated to write while I lounged on the sofa! Anyway much better today and went back to work.
DeleteSo sorry for all those suffering with the flooding.
i can empathize as a teacher. no fun to lose your voice (tho funny sounding =)
ReplyDeletelemon tea! and no spectator sports!
I know, Tara the kids find it highly amusing! 90% back to normal now thankfully :)
DeleteGlad you avoided the worst of the floods. Nice to hear you're feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nick :)
DeleteHi Suzanne! Funny, but I am also suffering from a sore throat and haven't been able to talk much today. (Which the kids and The Husband surely hate :) Hope your voice returns real soon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm very sorry to hear about all of the flooding you have going on in your area! Especially having just lived through it here at the Jersey Shore, in the after math of Hurricane Sandy. Recovering from a flood is not easy. Salt water damage is particularly brutal, as EVERYTHING must be replaced, or else it smells like low tide and mold. (Not pleasant!)
Sorry to hear about your sore throat, I guess it's that time of year!
DeleteThe weather seems to be so extreme these days and just goes to prove the unpredicability of mother nature. Hope you are recovering from the hurricane :)
Hope you are feeling better and avoid the flu, which is going around here. You may not have the vocal cords but you always have a voice :)
ReplyDeleteAaaawww...sorry to hear you are feeling so bad!! I hope you feel better soon and that the rain lets up. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is never fun. Do get better and no worries about being absent. It happens to the best of us. :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear :( I hope you feel better soon! At least somebody is being entertained by your illness I suppose! ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you are well on your way to sounding human again!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone I am feeling much better and totally human once more!
ReplyDeleteExterminate! your sore throat!
ReplyDeleteOh man :( I hope you feel better soon!
