I'm turning into a dalek!

Happy Monday morning everyone!

Really short post to apologise for my absence around the blogsphere for a few days. I have been hit by some sort of throat infection/laryngitis. Every time I have tried to speak over the weekend the family have dissolved in fits of laughter as I sound like a dalek! Must be bad because I haven't even gone into work today and that is very unusual for me as I hate having time off. But I figure if my nearest and dearest are dissolving in fits when I try to talk trying to talk to a bunch of  school children is probably not the best idea! So staying inside in the warm and dry.

Our town had some floods over the weekend but we are OK at the moment but everywhere is so wet and it is still raining! Hope any fellow bloggers in the UK are safe and well.  I did notice that Ellie has posted about the flooding near her.  Hope things are looking better today, Ellie.

Take care and hopefully normal service resumed real soon.

  1. Aww, hope you feel better soon!

My town took a big hit with the floods, lots of businesses and some homes were affected, but at least most of the water is out of the way for now. I live on a hill, so no problems for me! :D

  4. Aw, sorry to hear that! I think I would be a bit scared if my family told me I was beginning to sound like a Dalek. But on the bright side, you just may get a visit from the Doctor. :)

I live in the US, but I know that my family up a few states from me was hit by that bad hurricane that we had running through here a few weeks ago, and they've had it rough. There's nothing worse than flooding and an overabundance of rain. I'm glad that you're alright, though!

    1. The forces of nature can be so unpredicatable and dangerous, the weather is something we can't control.

  9. I hope you're back to a full functioning adult by the end of the week! I'm such a chatty cathy that I'd be lost if my voice disappeared! I don't really need it for the office but I'd lose my mind regardless!!!

Love the blog! About to stalk around a bit and learn what children's stories you have up your sleeve! I just dove into middle grade and I'm loving it!

    Unedited has love for ya...

  10. Oh gosh, that sounds miserable, Suzanne... There are different kinds of sicknesses I handle better than others, but sore throats KILL me... I hate that...

I hope you feel better soon! And all the flooding sounds so awful. Those poor people! :/

  13. Hi Suzanne! Funny, but I am also suffering from a sore throat and haven't been able to talk much today. (Which the kids and The Husband surely hate :) Hope your voice returns real soon.

Also, I'm very sorry to hear about all of the flooding you have going on in your area! Especially having just lived through it here at the Jersey Shore, in the after math of Hurricane Sandy. Recovering from a flood is not easy. Salt water damage is particularly brutal, as EVERYTHING must be replaced, or else it smells like low tide and mold. (Not pleasant!)

    1. Sorry to hear about your sore throat, I guess it's that time of year!

The weather seems to be so extreme these days and just goes to prove the unpredicability of mother nature. Hope you are recovering from the hurricane :)
