London 2012 - Olympic Games
Wow, it seems a long time ago that I wrote a couple of posts about the arrival of the Olympic Torch here and here. Tonight is the opening ceremony and the culmination of all that waiting and planning. Quite excited to see what they have planned, and who is actually going to light the flame in the stadium. Sadly only watching this on on the TV but let's hope the games go well and the true spirit of them is upheld. It will be good to be able to reflect that the London 2012 games were brilliant. Good luck to everyone involved.

Always fun to watch the games!
ReplyDeleteYes Alex it is. Personally, I'm not a massive sports fan but somehow the Olympcis is different and it is great to catch some of those sports we usually see so little of. Enjoy.
DeleteWe went down to Weymouth beach to watch ihe opening ceremony on their massive TV screens, A last minute decision, and so glad we did - the atmosphere was amazing. Let's hope the games are as thrilling!
ReplyDeleteWow I bet that was great, Trudy. Watching it on the tv was good but it must have been amazing with a crowd and a nice sunny evening in Weymouth too. Imagine what it must have been like in the actual stadium.
DeleteHi Suzanne. Thanks for coming across and commenting on my 'Google' blog post. I've popped across to meet you and have followed you.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching the opening ceremony this morning Fiji time.

I think it was a good opening ceremony. I particularly liked the fact that they chose some young athletes of the future to light the flame.
DeleteThe ceremony was pretty amazing. I really liked how they did the cauldron this year.
ReplyDeleteIt was great wasn't it? Also a nice touch that each country brought a petal out.
DeleteI am impressed with how well these Olympics are going. Like you, I liked how they chose young athletes of the future to light the flame: quite symbolic of the Olympic Spirit.
ReplyDeleteIndeed it was Roland. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteThat was a very unique way to light the torch. I loved how the flame circled around and rose up.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the Games
Yes it was different and looked so pretty I thought. Watching an archery game at the moment - something I wouldn't normally see. I think that it is great to catch things that are not normally showcased on TV.
DeleteWe saw a little archery yesterday too. Our TV coverage is really good this year. I just tagged you for a MeMe on my blog. Stop by to check it out if you'd like
